Ann's Bio

Ann is a constant student of massage and the body. She believes massage is one of the best ways to gain true knowledge of ones self. The more we are in touch with ourselves the easier it is to lead a more balanced and pain free life. Ann's work has its foundations in Muscular Therapy, which is a derivative of Swedish Massage with a slightly more anatomical perspective. Ann works with clients to relieve chronic pain and tension, increase awareness, and bring their bodies into better balance.

Ann grew up around sports watching her father coach swimming and water polo. Her brother played lacrosse and football, and she herself played ice hockey, lacrosse, and crew. Being active and using her body is essential to who Ann is. During her free time Ann now stays active by running or walking through the city, hiking anywhere there's a trail, and rock climbing.

Ann received her massage certification (900 hrs) from the Muscular Therapy Institute in Watertown, Massachusetts in 2005. Her education included the fundamentals in Swedish, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy, and Myofascial Release, all of which she incorporates into her sessions.

In 2006 she finished a 250 hour certification in Sports Massage through the Body Therapy Center in Palo Alto. Using all she has learned a session with Ann might involve deep tissue work to alleviate pain from chronic tension or gentle soothing techniques to help restore a sense of calm and ease. Ann looks forward to working with each client to create a treatment that enhances his or her ability to live comfortably in their bodies.
